A virtuoso of dots, lines, and splashes of color. A pioneer of the Endo-centric movement in Polish art. A world-renowned painter and graphic artist, he was one of the most distinguished artists of the Polish School of Posters. A graduate of the State Higher School of Fine Arts in Warsaw (today's Academy of Fine Arts) from the Department of Graphic Arts and Posters under Professor Henryk Tomaszewski. He designed graphics and book covers, collaborating with legendary publishing houses such as Czytelnik, PIW, KAW, and Iskry, as well as magazines such as "Ekran," "Film," "Miesięcznik Literacki," and "Szpilki." His unique style has gone down in the history of Polish graphic design thanks to the over 400 film, theater, and music posters that Młodożeniec created throughout his life. He was honored with numerous awards, including the Polish Society of Book Publishers Award for outstanding achievements in book graphic design (1978) and a gold medal at the 8th International Poster Biennale in Warsaw (1980). The author of over 40 solo exhibitions in Poland and abroad, his works are held in art collections and galleries in Amsterdam, New York, Berlin, and Paris, among others. Toward the end of his life, Jan Młodożeniec created an extraordinary series of paintings in which the everyday world is depicted from the perspective of a tiny sparrow. In a recent interview, the artist said: "I consciously try to paint smiling, cheerful things, where color is paramount. The fact that these are fish, birds, butterflies, buttons, trinkets, panegyrics to art is my business."
