We hate wasting food, so we're constantly looking for ways to use and transform edible leftovers into something delicious. Kids love creative play in the kitchen, and it's a great opportunity to tell them about the origins of certain products, share some interesting facts, and, of course, explain why it's so important not to throw away food.
Bananas are a staple in our kitchens, but they ripen quickly and aren't as tasty as fresh ones straight from the store. We don't throw them away, we repurpose them! We're sharing a great, tried-and-true recipe for less-waste cookies the whole family will love.

Execution:
Mash the bananas thoroughly with a fork in a bowl. Add the remaining ingredients: rolled oats, nuts, dried cranberries, and cocoa powder. You can, of course, add any dried fruit you have on hand, as long as it appeals to your little gourmets. Mix all ingredients thoroughly until a smooth, delicious-smelling mixture forms. Using a spoon, spoon a spoonful of the batter onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and gently flatten the cookies.
- 2 medium, very ripe bananas
- 1 cup of mountain oat flakes
- a handful of hazelnuts
- a handful of dried cranberries
- 1-2 tablespoons of cocoa

Preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius and bake for 15 minutes.

Hot sweets need a moment to cool down, so remember to wait a few minutes for the baked cookies to cool down before removing them from the baking sheet.

PS They taste great with almond milk and fresh strawberries! <3
