It's a waste of time, let's go to the forest
All autumn activities for children begin with a trip to the forest to search for autumn treasures . Before heading out for a walk, you can discuss together what you'd like to find in the forest. Make a list or use the list provided by Endo .
Walking along forest paths, you're sure to find many beautiful, colorful leaves. Try to find them in as many shapes and colors as possible. Other treasures worth looking for are pine cones, chestnuts, and acorns. It's not uncommon to find individual walnuts outdoors. Where do they come from? Birds drop them after snatching them from someone else's garden. It's also worth noting interesting sticks, stones, or pieces of bark. You can cover jars with wood, turning them into beautiful autumnal lanterns, and paint seasonal illustrations on the stones, such as pumpkins, hedgehogs, or squirrels.

Autumn fun for children - drawings with leaves
This time, the autumn weather was on our side! The abundance of colorful leaves stimulated our minds! Everyone saw something different in their leaves! Miss autumn? Oh yes – a wonderful plan to crown this season. A sweetly sleeping fox in the forest or a beautiful, colorful peacock! We're convinced that the more children's minds brimming with imagination, the more interesting, surprising ideas for leaf "drawings."

Autumn leaf collage
There are countless ideas for leaf paintings. You can create portraits of your family, animals like a fox, lion, hedgehog, or classic autumn landscapes. You can use leaves based on their natural shapes or cut them out like colored paper, creating completely new outlines. For more complex projects, it's worth planning the composition in advance by sketching it in pencil on paper and then gluing the leaves onto the sketch. Once all the leaves are on the paper, feel free to grab your colored markers. Add decorative patterns, facial expressions, and other elements to enhance the image. The finished piece will be perfect for a frame and will adorn your autumn home decor.- Lots of colorful leaves

Beads made of rowan and other forest treasures
Autumn fun for children involves collecting the most beautiful jewels that nature itself provides! And the golden Polish autumn is especially good at this. When we think of autumn jewelry, we immediately imagine beautiful rowan berries, shimmering in the sun. But let's not limit ourselves to just that. We can create an autumn necklace from many natural elements. Use our imagination and try to find as many unusual jewelry pieces as possible in the forest and meadow. We suggest that you can also find matching beads in your own kitchen, in your spice drawer.

Autumn jewelry
We begin by preparing the natural treasures we want to use to make jewelry. We divide the collected rowan berries into individual "beads." We select the small leaves and flowers we want to use. We can also make beads from harder elements, such as small pine cones or small sticks. An adult should help the child make a hole in the beads for the string, or we can tie a string around them. We arrange the finished pieces in front of us in a pre-designed pattern to make threading easier. We thread the needle and thread the prepared ornaments one by one. We hang the beads around our necks and can begin playing autumn princesses!- Mountain ash

Autumn games for children - toys made of chestnuts and acorns
A traditional autumn activity for children is, of course, creating various toys from chestnuts and acorns. The fun begins with collecting the materials, but you're more likely to find chestnut trees in a park than in the forest. You can head to the forest for all the necessary accessories. Collect pine cones, sticks, and colorful leaves to help you build an entire chestnut town.

Ideas for forest toys
Don't limit yourself to traditional toys made from chestnuts and acorns. Let your imagination run wild and try making less typical toys. The forest is a treasure trove of unusual sticks and pieces of bark. Use string to connect twigs to create an interesting animal, such as a giraffe or a dinosaur. An attached leaf can be a red mane, and a rowan berry can be angry red eyes. A piece of bark can be transformed into a portrait of a forest spirit with hot glue. You can make a beard from feathers, and a small pine cone can serve as a nose.- Sticks in different shapes

Autumn fun for children - candlesticks
In addition to animals, sticks can also be used to create wonderful home decorations, such as candlesticks. This stylish accessory will make a beautiful autumn decoration. It also works well as a Christmas decoration or as a gift idea for Grandma or Mom.

We glue the sticks around the jar using hot glue. We tie the whole thing with gray string for decoration. Place a candle inside, and the atmosphere in the house instantly changes!- Sticks of similar size

Colorful Lanterns
A similar idea is to make a colorful lantern. For this purpose, we'll need colorful leaves.

Making a lantern
Measure out a piece of paper to wrap around the jar. Lay out the paper and glue leaves of your choice onto it. Small leaves work well, but you can also use larger ones and cut out various shapes, such as hearts. Wrap the finished paper around the jar and secure with double-sided tape. Tie the rim of the jar with ribbon or gray string. Place a candle inside, and you're done! Tip: Play with different leaf colors; they will affect the color of the light emitted from the lantern.- Colorful leaves
