Control the chaos on your desk and prepare homemade crayon containers with your child.
Inspiration straight from Endo T-shirts
Encourage your young student to come up with a design for their crayon holders. It could be an animal, a superhero, or your own colorful design. If you're stuck for ideas, like us, be inspired by the beautiful illustrations that make Endo t-shirts famous. You can choose from dinosaurs and soccer players, cute animals, and fruits. We chose man's best friends: cats and dogs.

Planning the appearance of your crayon containers
Before you start creating your beautiful crayon and pencil holders, plan exactly how they will look. This will help you avoid mistakes when making the boxes. The best way to do this is to sketch them out on paper.
Draw a rectangle to represent the front of the box, and then draw the animal design for the container. Consider whether the character will have ears that stick up; if so, add them. Also, remember to choose the appropriate height for the items you'll be storing inside. A lower box is useful for things like crayons, while a higher one is for long brushes, a ruler, and scissors.
Materials needed to make crayon containers
Milk or juice cartons will serve as the basis for the containers. They are durable and waterproof, with an elegant silver interior. Remember to wash and dry the cartons before use.
To make the container, you will also need tools: scissors, glue and a brush, as well as paints and decorations selected for your project.
- Milk boxes
- Paints and brush
- Scissors and a craft knife
- Glitter paper: black and gold
- Red foil
- Glue
How to Make DIY Crayon Boxes - Dog and Cat Endo
We'll start by sketching our illustration on the box and then cutting out the shape. The dog's body will be cut straight across, and when cutting out the kitten's shape, don't forget the pointed ears.
The next step is to cover the boxes with opaque paint to obscure the lettering on the packaging. Paint the cat black and the dog white.

Time for accessories. Cut out a cat mask from gold glitter, and dog ears and a glasses frame from black. Cut out the glasses lenses from red foil and glue them to the frame.

We glue the ears onto the dog's box. The rest of the elements will have to wait until the very end.

Time to paint. On the white box, paint the dog's eyes and muzzle, as well as the spots on its fur, with black paint. On the black box, paint the kitten's eyes, muzzle, ears, and whiskers with white paint.

The final step is to glue the mask and glasses on and your crayon holders are ready!
