This charming yarn bird is a perfect winter project. Its appearance resembles birds that hibernate in Poland, such as tits and bullfinches. The bird itself can be used as part of a winter decoration or, for example, as a DIY gift for a grandparent on Grandparents' Day. Find out how to make it.

- yarn in any color
- stuffing for plush toys, cotton wool, or a small piece of fabric
- colored paper for the beak
- plastic, self-adhesive eyes
- scissors
- glue

Step 1
We wrap the yarn on a piece of cardboard approximately 10 cm wide.

Step 2
We cut the wound yarn in one place, creating equal strands of the same length.

Step 3
We separate individual strands of yarn into single threads, which will make our bird fluffier.

Step 4
After separating the threads, we divide them into three equal piles.

Step 5
We pass two strands through each other, through their middle, and secure each with a knot.

Step 6
Form a small ball of filling and place it in the center of the last strand of yarn. Wrap the yarn around the ball and secure with a loop.

Step 7
Using the two previously joined strands, we encircle the last strand of yarn, the one with the filling inside. Join all three strands together on one side and tie them with a knot. This creates the bird's head, body with two wings, and spread tail.

Step 8
In the next step, we stick plastic eyes on the bird's head.

Step 9
We cut out a beak from colored paper and glue it to the bird's head.
